Founded in 2012, the Monteverde Community Fund is a philanthropic organization that unites diverse resources, stakeholders and strategies to promote sustainability initiatives in the Monteverde region and its surrounding communities.
Registered as a non-profit membership association in Costa Rica, we form part of growing number of community foundations found throughout North America, Europe and Africa.
We fundraise in order to support local projects through small grants, we provide technical assistance for the development of larger, high-impact projects and we facilitate local opportunities for networking and peer-to-peer learning.
Our membership is representative of the public, private and non-governmental sectors, including artists, environmental scientists, educators, farmers, public health specialists and business leaders, among others. Our Network of Collaborators provides essential support in fundraising and other areas which better enable us to serve the Monteverde region.
