CAPACITY BUILDING

Capture and Reinvest Monetary Resources

  1. Local and international partnerships that redirect consumer and ecotourism dollars for community benefit.

  2. Small Grants Program: Award grants to impact four critical areas: environment, economy, community, and climate change.

Empower Community Groups

Eliminate the financial and legal management burden for grassroots organizations.

Collaborate and Empower

  1. Drive communication and collaboration among sectors.

  2. Facilitate inclusive spaces and events that celebrate health and empowerment.

Education and Long-term investment

Through training and support during the competitive funding process, we strengthen the community’s capacities.

Each time a community project comes forward with its letter of intent, they familiarize themselves with the process of competing for funding opportunities, whether from the FCM or other institutions, keeping organized records of fund execution, and being accountable to the public. This way, we have been promoting grassroots development in Monteverde since 2012.
