To participate in our grants it's necessary to be a community group that is be formed by a group of people committed to a common interest (not for profit).

Programming and community engagement are at the core of our strategy. We make an extensive global network accessible to change-makers in the region and sit with them to make sure they have the support they need.

Local Partners
Monteverde is a community of approximately 6,000 people with some 40 non-profit organizations and many others that have come and gone over the years. The Monteverde Community Fund is different than other NGO’s in that our goal is to help existing organizations further their work and assist in new initiatives.
The Fund has been able to bring together existing organizations which, by forming networks and working together with seed funding, have begun to tackle the larger, more complex challenges facing the area.
Coffee Tours Alliance of Monteverde
In 2020, four local coffee tours formed an alliance that recognizes the importance of practicing community philanthropy. They implemented a strategy that redirects $1 per visitor to the Monteverde Community Fund and the Associacion Desarrollo San Luis in order to invest in the community and its well-being.
Now aligned with three companies, to date the Alliance has raised over $250,000.
